A friend shared this with us the other day. These are Sony Playstation gashapon made by Tomy Arts and the line features 6 versions of the first Sony Playstation. These come with accessories such as a controller, a game disk and a memory card.

I particularly want the gray classic model and the black one. I've always wanted to have that black console, but we already had an older gray PS unit then so buying one was out of the question.That PS unit is still with me .Too bad it doesn't work anymore.Right now, it is stashed in a box somewhere in our storage room.

These are currently available in Japan; there's also a listing on Amazon.jp for a complete set of six but I don't think they ship here. I hope that these reach our shores pretty soon because I would love to get my hands on them!

Presented by Fully Booked, Red Nimbus, Vinyl on Vinyl, and Comic Odyssey, the event happens on the 26th of November at Top Shelf on the 5th floor of Fully Booked BHS. New Toys From Jollibee Kids Meal

Jollibee recently came out with 4 new toys for their Kids Meal: two from Megaman and two from Bratz.
First toy is of video game and cartoon hero Mega Man. Called the "Mega Man Mega Buster", the figure has a fireball which you can "fire" by pressing a button. Detach the fireball, and you can attach Mega Man’s arm.

Another Mega Man character, Proto Man, also gets a figure with the "Proto Man Light N’ Shield". His hand lights up when you press a button. The figure comes with a shield that you can attach/ detach from the back to it's hand.

For the girls Jollibee offers the Bratz Paper Play which comes in two different sets—the Design Embosser and the Pretty Pattern Printer. The Design Embosser has cool artistic features. Just put a piece of paper in the embosser, place it in the roller, and turn the lever. Open the embosser and see the cute design! The Pretty Pattern Printer also lets you create lively works of art. Insert the paper in the crimper, and wind up the lever on both sides to fill the paper with unique and pretty patterns.

It's a bit late, but I'm still hoping to get my hands on Megaman and Protoman. Hopefully, I'd still be able to find a pair somewhere, as toys like these often run out fast. It's happening this weekend. I've been thinking of going, but I might pass up on this one. Besides, I don't think I won't be able to last in there anyway, if last year's sale is an indication. The place was so packed with people you can hardly move an inch.

Joint Junkie also posted another toy event which happens next weekend : XTC 2011. I'm thinking whether I should go and take a peek since I wasn't able to go to last year's con.

My Toy Wish/ Want List 1

I had my birthday last week, and Christmas is just around the corner so I decided to put together a wishlist of toys I want. Not necessarily to be given to me as gifts,- I'd be more than happy to buy these for myself if I have a lot of cash- but if someone does gift me, I would accept it whole-heartedly. XD

Here are some of the toys that I want/ wish for. Most of these I wouldn't mind finding or gettign loose, but it'd be better if they were MOC or MOB.

I got into Pinky st. back in 2007, I think. My friend Nina started collecting them and taking pictures of them. I started my collection with a Pinky that I bought from her, Arcruied Tsukihime from the game Melty Blood. It was soon followed with a Agito/ Akito from the manga and anime, Airgear. This was from my brother who I asked to buy it for me from an online bookstore because it was on sale. I have gotten other pinkies since then, and the ones below are the ones that I still do not have, but want so badly.

Marvel Legends

I have a few Marvel Legends here at home. Most of them I got at sale bins at the toy store like X-3 Colossus and Marvel Girl from the Queen Brood BAF wave; and Moon Knight and Captain Marvel from the Modok and Mojo BAF series. Some were given to my like my red and green "bootleg" Iron Fist. These 2 were given to me by my brother. I also have a Dr. Strange figure which was given to me by Drew. And then there's the loose over run X-23 I picked up at the Glorietta Toy Fair last October ( which I haven't blogged yet). The Crazy Cat Lady

Yes, I ended up buying it! As if there was any doubt that I wouldn't. I saw this Crazy Cat Lady action figure about two weeks back at one of the discount toy stores I frequent. I decided to pass and wait until after Toycon to decide on buying it, since I've already purchased vinyl toys.

A day after Toycon, I went back to the store to see if it was still there, and bought it. Originally, this came in a blister pack with an illustrated card, but this one was sold without the card. Here's what it looks like in it's original packaging.

The figure is about 5-1/4 inches tall and comes with six cats. The figure is dressed in stereotypical "crazy cat lady" garb-- a ratty old robe, wild hair , soft padded slippers and a checkered pajama button. It has a bit of articulation so you can bend it's knees, waist and arms. Manufactured by Accoutrements , this action figure retails for about $10.00 online. The store was selling it for Php 70.00, but since haggling is allowed at the store, I asked for a better price and got it for only Php 50.00! Talk about a steal!

I'll post photos of the figure out of it's pack soon.

How To Survive a Con

Since the 9th Philippine Toycon is just days away, I decided to put together a "Con Survival Guide" of sorts that is based on my personal experience. I've gone to few cons since I've gotten into collecting, and these have gotten me through every single one.

Tips after the jump.

Always have a list with you. I love making lists like for things I need to do and when I'm going grocery shopping. This way, I know exactly what to look for when I'm there. A big help when you are shopping on a budget. Speaking of budgets...

Set a budget. But be prepared to go over it. Make sure you have your cash ready along with some extra. As much as possible, try to stick to your budget to avoid unnecessary purchases. But should you find that die-cast metal Voltes V you've been wanting for so long, and it would take you over your budget, then go ahead and dip into that extra wad of cash. It might be a while before you come across it again.

Make sure you factor in other expenses when making your budget like entrance fees, gas/ transportation costs, meal allowances, etc.

Haggle. Haggle, haggle, haggle. Most prices at cons aren't set in stone, so negotiate for a good price whenever possible. Just make sure that the price is acceptable for both seller and buyer. There will be times when something is already reasonable priced, so in this case it's okay not to.

Don't hunt and shop on an empty stomach. hunger will only cloud your judgement and may make you prone to buy impulsively. Make sure that you've had a full meal before you go to the con so that you'll have lots of energy for going around. Take a break if you get hungry. Most cons have food stalls in the venue. Bring a bottle of water with you. You could get thirsty and dehydrated.

Map out the venue. For safety reasons, it pays to know where the exits are, especially in case of emergencies. Also take note of where the fire extinguisher is should you see one; do not panic in case of an emergency. Other things to look out for are the location of food stalls, medics, and toilets.

Take a path. Don't go running off in different directions or else you'll tire yourself out. Look around and go to the first booth that catches your eye and start from there. When you're done with that, move on to the booth right next to it. Keep doing this until you reach the end.

The early bird catches the worm. Waking up early sure can be the the shits, but being early has it's perks. You get to paw all the merchandise before anybody else does so you have a bigger chance of getting everything you want. Going early also means a smaller crowd.

Having said that, come closing day, most retailers would want to unload most if not all of their remaining stocks, and these often get hugely discounted so it's also worth it to wait a bit.

Bring your own bag. I always bring a bag with me to put in everything I buy, so that the seller doesn't have to bag the item for me. Doing that lessens the amount of wasted plastic in the end.

Bring a camera. And make sure the battery is charged full, and there's ample space in your SD card.

Bring a survival kit. Aside from having my own shopping bag, I always bring a bag with me that contains some essentials like an extra shirt, a small notebook, a camera, my list, a pen, my salbutamol inhaler, a bottle of water and hand sanitizer. Just bring what is essential to you and leave everything else behind.

Dress comfortably. You'd be doing a considerable amount of walking and standing,so wearing the right foot wear is essential. Wear clothes that are made from soft and breathable materials like cotton and jeans. Screw the spandex.

Go with friends. Wolves hunt in packs for a reason. Three sets of eyes and hands are better than one. Also, going around the venue can be boring and tedious, so having friends to do it with makes it much more enjoyable. If you don't have friends with you, make some. Smile and strike up a conversation with fellow con goers. It's always nice to have some company.

Follow the "Golden Rule". Be nice towards fellow con goers. Treat them how you would like to be treated. Be courteous. It never killed anyone to say "excuse me" and "please".

And lastly,

Have fun. Enjoy the con! Don't stress yourself out when you don't get that prized Gundam, or if someone accidentally steps on your toes. It's supposed to be a fun experience.

I'm Back With New Toy Finds

So it's been a while since I last posted here. I've been busy with other things and frankly, I didn't know what direction to take with this blog. So here I am, months later, and still clueless as to how I'm going to make this work. I guess I'll just start by posting more.

Let me start with my newest finds. I found these vinyl toys at 2 of my favorite toy haunts. These are approximately 3 inches high. There were many to choose from, but I initially got just these two. There are four more that I've been thinking of getting, but I'm putting it off for a bit until after Toycon.

These came loose so I don't know what line these came from. The sales ladies at both stores also do not know what line or label these came from. An internet search came up inconclusive. I'm sure someone out there knows what these toys are.

Care to ID these for me?

Battle Stance

This is a MicroMan figure of Ras'Al Ghul from Batman Begins. Made by Japanese toy maker Takara, this figure is fully poseable with 30 points of articulation. It stands at approximately 4 inches and comes with 6 sets of interchangeable hands.

This is my first Takara figure which I got almost a year ago at a toy sale in SM City North Edsa. Originally retailing for Php 599.75, I got it for the sweet discounted price of only Php 100.00. I wish they also had the Batman Takara MicroMan figure on sale as well. Or the Chun-Li or Sakura MicroMan figures. I sure would have gotten those.

Another gift I got from my cousin last Christmas. Honestly, I don't know what this character's name is. All I know is that it's from the anime, "Inuyasha".

I took this on the same day I took the Inuyasha photo. I wanted to get the wall and a bit of the sky that you see on the background, so what I did was place this figure on top of our car and shoot an an angle below the supposed eye-level of the figure.

My cousin gave this to me last Christmas. He's from Sydney and he was here doing volunteer work so he spent his Christmas with us. I haven't had the chance to take a photo of this up until a few days ago. I was sort of aiming for a more darker approach to this shot-- there would be more shadows and very little light coming through. Maybe I will do that one of these days. For now, though, I am very content with this one.

I just want to greet everyone a Happy Easter! I hope everyone went home with loads of Easter eggs in their baskets!

These easter eggs contained One-Piece gachas. I got them at SM ToyKingdom, and gave them as gifts at a Christmas party 2 years ago. I bought a total of 5 eggs , I think. Originally, I wanted to place them in a basket lined with shredded paper, to make it look like the eggs are in a nest.

Unfortunately for me, I couldn't find the basket that I wanted so I decided to wrap it some other way. I think I wrapped it in a brown paper bag which I line with some scrap/tissue paper to make it look like I bought it at a stall in the market.

This little fellow is a Happy Meal freebie from McDonald's that I got about 4 or 5 years ago. It has wheels underneath and when you roll it, the horns on top of the head bob up and down. This photo is the most jester-like I could find from my collection, so I thought this would be appropriate for today.

"By the power of Grayskull, I have the power!"

He-Man has got to be one of the most memorable characters from the 80's. Every boy wanted to be him; I know I once did. I used to have a lot of He-Man action figures, even Castle Grayskull. Growing up, I was the only kid who had a Castle Grayskull in the neighborhood. While my playmates had almost every figure in the series, even the vehicles and weapon sets, they didn't have the castle. I felt really proud because I had one. Ofcourse my friends were envious.

But, alas, I don't have them anymore. I've managed to lose all of my He-Man toys, including the Castle. I must admit I haven't been very keen on taking care of them when I was younger.

But since I have rediscovered the joy of collecting toys, I have since been scouring the net and toy stores for He-man. I was so fortunate to have found a loose figure at a 2nd hand toy shop near where I live. Unfortunately for me, I didn't have any money on me that day so I went back the next day to buy it. But it was already gone. Somebody bought it right after I left.

I spent months looking for this particular figure. I've seen a lot on ebay, but it's mostly the ones from the MOTU series fro the 80's, which I wasn't looking for.

I found this 2 days after my birthday 2 years ago at a toyshop in Shoppesville. I was actually there looking for a personal birthday present, and when I saw this, I immediately took it off the rack and paid for it. It's from the newer line of MOTU toys, and I got it for 500 pesos( about $12), and admittedly it was actually a bit too much of what I'm willing to pay for an action figure. I normally wait until it goes on sale, and if it's loose I would haggle like crazy. But hey, it was new, still sealed and exactly what I wanted. So I went ahead with the purchase. I went home totally satisfied.

I'm not really looking to complete the entire series. I just want to get other select figures like Prince Adam, Skeletor, the other He-man Variants, Sorceress, Teela and She-Ra. Unfortunately, most of them are a bit hard to find, loose or MOC.

MegaHouse Dagashi Set

I love a good bargain which is why I'm always at 2nd hand toy stores and always on the look-out for sales. I would spend hours going through boxes, bins and racks just to find something in particular, and also spend hours browsing through online market websites like ebay.

I learned about this local online market called Auctions.ph. I can't recall how, but it was before they made their TVC that starred Alessandra De Rossi. Anyway, I was browsing through the site, looking for toys, books and comic books when I came across the listing for this toy set-- an opened box of dagashi miniatures from MegaHouse. MegaHouse is a Japanese toy company that has a big range of toys it manufactures.

It really was a bargain at 75 pesos! I hit the "buy it now" button immediately. Shipping fee was very minimal.

Dagashi is a Japanese shop that sells all sorts of sweets like chocolates, candies and snacks, at a very low and affordable price. These stores also sold cheap toys like tops, marbles, playing cards, etc. and were very popular back in the day. According to web-japan.org, up until the 60's and 70's, every town in Japan had one. You can read more about dagashi here.

I bought this just so I could use it as a subject for photography. But I have since parted with it after I took these pictures. I gave them to my niece as a going away present.

This is one of two Dunnies I own. Both are from Series 3. My sister got them as party favors from an an event she attended 2 years ago. Since she wasn't into toys that much, she gave them to me! Here's your photo of the day! I was rummaging through some folders in my hard drive when I came across a set of old photos. This is from two years ago, during my first few attempts at toy photography.

Back then, I used to just borrow cameras since I didn't have one of my own. I have used my friends' digicam; my sister's camphone; and my sister-in-laws digital video cam which I used to take this photo.

I've been taking photos ever since. Even more so now, since I now have my own camera.

There are more photos from way back that I'd like to share so do come back to check them out. Hopefully you'll see some progress with my my skills.

The doll house seems to be made of laminated cardboard and MDF board,with windows and doors made of wood; 1:12 scale; has two floors and an attic. It comes in a box and some assembly may be required. If you are a Pinky:St. collector, this is the perfect doll house for your girls. ;-D

Tsukihime Arc is the first original pinky I ever bought. I say "original" because the first Pinky:st figure I bought was a bootleg one. Tsukihime, or Arc as I'm used to calling her, is one of my favorite Pinky:st figures.

Arc has red eyes and bright yellow hair. She's wearing a white turtleneck, long purple skirt and black shoes. As with other Pinky:st releases, she comes with an alternate outfit:a white button-up shirt and bare legs. Arc is unique, because she's the only Pinky:st figure so far to come out with bare legs. She also comes with a mini doll version of herself, a book and a stand.

A Pinky:chara release, Arc is now only available from sellers on ebay.com and Yahoo!Japan Auctions.

Wow. It's been almost a full year since I last made a post here. Things are about to change, and Hopefully, I'll be able to post more stuff on here. God knows I have a TON of materials.

One big change would probably be the inclusion of other toys into the blog. While I initially wanted to focus solely on Pinky St., I've decided that it would be a good idea to post photos of my other toys as well. I've acquired quite a number of toys since my time away from this blog, and I've taken quite a lot of photos (of those). Some I bought, (mostly dirt cheap!) while others were given to me. And there's the occasional toy I found on the street. I'm not kidding!

How I got some of my toys is actually quite interesting. I'd like to be able share where I get my toys- like tips on where to go and how to get the best deals. And maybe throw in some news on the latest releases.

Another change would be the name and url of the blog. From oh my pinky!, the blog will now be known as oh my toy blog! The url will now be : www.ohmytoyblog.blogspot.com.

I'll do my best to update this blog as much as possible.

Welcome to my Pinky:st blog! A place where you will find the cutest and most adorable little things out of Japan since Sailormoon! (well, in my opinion anyway XD)Here I will showcase these cute little figures that I started to collect a few months ago. I only have 2 so far, but I have 3 more on the way.

What is Pinky:st you ask? Pinky:st is a line of cute SD (super-deformed)dolls from Japan designed by baby sue and manufactured by Vance Project. These come outfitted in Japanese street fashion, and comes with an alternate body and accesories. All the parts are interchangeable, so the looks you get are almost limitless.
